MEOWHAMMER
What is Meowhammer? Meowhammer is a unique charity event that brings together the gaming community to help special needs animals in the area. Ran and developed by the owners of Slice & Dice, Josh and Adam. This year the beneficiary is Fluff Monster Rescue! As someone who worked within shelters and even ran one, special needs animals are often overlooked and forgotten about so they have a special place in my heart. They are the first to be put to sleep but offer the most love to give. All the events and sales profits go towards the animals. Also, there are incentives in each event that will grant you power or fun bonuses if you donate additional money or items. Such as cat food, litter, new blankets, heated beds, etc.
Awesome! Where and when!? Last year was so successful we decided to run more events. It is of course at our store, Slice and Dice Game Cafe 20950 W Ireland Rd, South Bend, IN 46614. Near the Coke plant and Walmart on the south side of South Bend. Entrance is off of Linden.
The days are split based on events:
Saturday, December 7th
Warhammer 40k - 11:00am ($25 per person)
Magic The Gathering - 2:00 pm ($25 per person)
Dungeons & Dragons - 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm (Limited tickets available - $45 or $65 which comes with lots of goodies)
Sunday, December 8th
Conquest: Last Argument of Kings - 11:00 am ($20 per person)
Bolt Action - 11:00 am ($20 per person)
X-Wing - 1:00 pm ($40 per person)
Dungeons & Dragons - 1:00 pm (Limited tickets available - $45 or $65 which comes with lots of goodies)
You may, and are encouraged to purchase tickets early! D&D has a limited quantity of tickets.
Each event will be subject to special and wacky themed rules. Also special merch will be available for Meowhammer that benefits the special needs kitties and dogs. These are extremely limited and once they are gone they are gone so be sure to pick them up!
I can’t participate in an event but I’d love to stop by! That's great too! Please come and learn about Fluff Monster, they including the executive director will be there to thank you and explain why the work they do is so important and what the donations go towards. It’s people like you that give the poor babies a chance at life. You can bring donations and pick up Meowhammer merch or grab a stone oven pizza or panini with a huge thank you from all of us!
Where can I find details about each event? Each event will have what’s called a “packet”, for example “Warhammer 40k Packet”. They will contain rules and details for each event. Some things will be left as a surprise but it’s a good idea to read them carefully.
May I participate in multiple events? Of course, but be aware that it will be very difficult to play two events in one day but you're encouraged to play one Saturday and one Sunday!
I’m new to ______ game, is that ok? Yes! Each event is designed from the ground up so that veterans or people who have never played a game before are able to participate and have a fun time. Nothing at Meowhammer is competitive, it's all about hilarious times and supporting special needs animals! Many of the judges and event coordinators, or your partners, or teammates will take time to help you. This is all about community and charity.
So please spread this as much as possible so we can help as many animals as possible!
Is there special swag at the event? Yes! There’s special merchandise such as shirts, dice, models that will be “once they’re gone, they’re gone”. There will also be a special sale going on as the proceeds go to the special needs animals. Also cool raffle ticket items! Raffle tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. The money from all of this goes to the benefiting charity.
What are some of the items that Fluffmonster could use for the special needs animals? Good question, obviously litter and cat food are always needed, blankets, paper towels, and that good stuff but here is a list.
